Evaluating Print (Non-Web) Sources: Find Book Reviews

Limiting to "Book Reviews" in article databases

The Advanced search screen in most databases lets you limit your search results to just Book Reviews. In the search box, put the title of the book in quotation marks, and then limit the document type to either "Book review" or "Review."  See example below:

What are Choice Reviews Online?

 

Choice Reviews Online (CRO) specializes in book reviews for academia.  Since CRO is multi-disciplinary, all Faculty will find it useful of selecting titles for the college library. CRO’s reviews always speak to readership level making it easy to identify materials for lower-division undergraduates.  In addition, their  5-tiered rating system simplifies finding essential buys.  Shopping with CRO is so much fun that many CRO readers set up email alerts so that they will get all the latest reviews.  

Sign up for an account on campus, and then you can use CRO anywhere with an internet connection. One caveat however, please remember to logout of this database when you are done!
