Library Research and Information Literacy

College-level library research is an important step in being "information literate." To read more about information literacy, visit the Association of College & Research Libraries' page, Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education

These Library Research tutorials focus on how to do college-level library research, but you can certainly apply what you learn here to other areas of your life!

Level 1 covers the basics of getting research help, searching library databases, and citing sources. Level 2 and Level 3 guide you through more specialized resources, advanced search strategies, and tips for evaluating information.

Move through the tutorials using the "Previous" and "Next" buttons at the bottom left and right of the pages.

Chat with a Librarian

Live text chat is available 24/7/365. When an OC librarian is not available, you will be connected to one of our partner librarians from another college or university, who can help you in many ways.
