About the Johnson Library

Construction of The Johnson Library was completed in July 2003 and dedicated on August 26, 2003.  This facility is equipped with fiber optics to provide high tech access, three interactive television spaces and a teaching computer lab for 24 students. In addition, the Johnson Library provides three state-of-the-art classrooms, five offices, and two small conference rooms.

The library is named for Wes Johnson, the long-time Mason County resident and entrepreneur who bequeathed part of his estate to benefit Olympic College Shelton students. A state grant of $500,000 and a generous $142,000 gift from Richard Kramer combined with Johnson's gift to provide the necessary funding for this excellent addition to the Shelton campus and community.
