Nursing Education in Video

Creating links directly to videos

Once you have found a video that you would like your students to view, you can give them a direct link to it.  By following these instructions, you can ensure that your off campus students, as well as your on campus students, will be able to link to the video.

From the video's page, click on the link that says, "Embed/Link."  Highlight and copy the URL.

1. Go to your syllabus, Canvas classroom, email, or wherever you will be publishing the link to the video.

2. Paste the link to the video.

3. Add the proxy server prefix in front of the video link: http://ezproxy.olympic.edu:2048/login?url=

4. The link you send your students will look something like this: http://ezproxy.olympic.edu:2048/login?url=http://search.alexanderstreet.com/view/work/1794151

5. When your off campus students click the link, they will be asked to enter their OC Network Username  (just first and last name, run together) and Password before they are allowed to continue to the video. On campus students will go directly to the video.
