In this course, we will study the roles of informatics and analytics in today's business environment and explore the trends that are related to big data and the uses of data to support effective decision-making process in a wide range of business contexts. Topics include research methods in informatics; big data management and analytics; predictive analytics; recognizing data patterns and trends; and information ethics, law and policy. Through the use of case studies, students will collaborate to research and present data-driven solutions to real-world problems.
