Preferred practices for LibGuide authors

Publishing Checklist

  • Verify your planned guide doesn't duplicate existing content.
    • Recall that you can reuse pages, boxes, widgets, etc.
    • Coordinate with other faculty on overlapping and adjacent content
  • Thoughtfully design your guide and content
  • Review best practices and ensure you tag and associate your guide for discoverability.

    • Focus link lists on just a handful of the best resources (unless it is designed to be comprehensive)
  • Review (and feel free to ask others to review) before publishing to check for spelling errors, etc.
  • Use an accessibility checker to ensure your content is available to everyone.
