Assignment

  1. Find at least five recent (published since 2018), references that address your infectious disease topic.  List all the references below, in shorthand format (full citations are not necessary).  For example, you could just list a website or a newspaper article title.  Think of this like your “first draft” list of references you would read on your selected topic.
  2. Use the criteria for evaluating information sources (as explained during the library session) to determine three references from the first draft list that you determine to be credible.  Use these three references to complete the rest of the assignment.
  3. Fill in the given table  to justify your three selections.
  4. Which references from your rough draft list did you reject as being non-credible?   List below, with a brief explanation of your rationale for rejecting them.
  5. Use American Psychological Association (APA) style documentation to prepare a formal citation for your three credible reference below.  See this guide for more information on APA formatting:  http://libguides.olympic.edu/ld.php?content_id=9096549
  6. Pick one of your selected three references.   For practice, write a summary sentence that references the information in the article, using proper parenthetical citations.   Again, consult the APA libguide for proper parenthetical citation format.
